Man arrested with multiple fake IDs in Nagaon


Guwahati: Nagaon police arrested a person with several fake Adhaar cards, PAN cards, SIM cards as well as electronic items from Haiborgaon area during a check.

Police sources said they had an entry source that a “Naka ​​check” had been placed near the Haiborgaon city outpost.

During the check, the police came across a person driving a Tata Tiago.

During their check, the police recovered ten fake SIM cards, five fake Adhaar cards, five fake PAN cards and four mobile phones from the accused.

The accused was identified as Abu Salma.

Police said that during the investigation it was discovered that the Adhaar cards were made with different IDs, names and addresses.

The addresses on it were from places like Delhi, Mumbai, Nasik, etc.

However, the photographs on these cards were the same.

The same was done with the PAN cards.

During his interrogation, the defendant revealed that he was part of an online scam.

He uses fake cards and sims through an app named Tata Neu which provides EMI to buy goods online.

The accused allegedly created numerous online accounts on TATA Neu and received credit limits of up to Rs. 1.5 lakh per Adhaar and SIM card number. As a result, he ordered expensive electronic items through the app and received them through Blue Dart courier services.

Additionally, a raid was carried out at Blue Dart Courier Service, South Haiborgaon, and recovered 3 refrigerators, 3 Android mobile handsets and an air conditioner.

The arrested person is a resident of Silpukhuri of Morigaon.
